Interview With Author Dave Wellington

I had a chance to chat with author Dave Wellington. You might recognize Wellington from his “Monster Island” and other web serials. Dave has tons of cool stuff going on and was a contributor to Omnibucket’s own “Brainchild…A Collection of Artifacts” in 2005.

The Glass Artworks of Paglialunga

Columbus, Ohio – September , 2009.
Review by David Senecal

Nestled within the hills of southern Ohio, a few minutes drive south of Columbus, a distinct buzz could be felt on the cool September breeze blowing through the normally quiet, and exotically named town of Lithopolis.

The Lithopolis Honey fest is an annual attraction that takes place on the grounds of the Wagnalls Memorial estate. Built in 1925 by Mabel Wagnalls Jones, daughter of Adam and Ana Wagnalls, the Wagnalls Memorial is part library, part art museum, and bears the namesake of the co-founder of the Funk and Wagnalls publishing company.

Magic Yellow Jumpsuit - An Interview With The Polish Ambassador

in

The Polish Ambassador composes music that is a pleasure for your ears and a sensory experience for your mind and body. He has been compared to many top electronic artists as having an irresistibly danceable beat, and that is spot on…his music is fun, and catchy, and downright awesome.

I dunno, there may just be something magical in that yellow jumpsuit he wears. I asked TPA a variety of weird questions, and he, in turn, gave me a variety of surreal answers. So, check out his music, read this, and then check out more of his music.

An Interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson

In this Omnibucket Magazine interview we had the distinct pleasure of speaking with one of the preeminent astrophysicists in the known universe, Dr. Neil deGrass Tyson. Dr. Tyson is the director of the Hayden Planetarium. You may be familiar with a number of the books he’s written.

He is also the host of “NOVA Science Now”, and has appeared on History Channel‘s science program, ‘The Universe’. Dr. deGrasse Tyson has also appeared numerous times on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Colbert Report, and the Conan O’Brien show.

Bookgasm reviews Book of CLAV

Rod Lott at Bookgasm had some wonderful things to say about our dear book.

"The art — interspersed throughout the entries — is hypnotic and bizarre, at once seemingly mundane and oddly disturbing. (...) and once again, they’ve done a hell of a job in presentation, for a work that’s simultaneously an experimental art project and a piece of meta fiction."

Guardian’s Mike England interviews Tyler

From The Book of CLAV’s Tyler Landry:

“I did another interview for the Guardian, this time a proper one, instead of just a straight reprint of the initial press release. There are a few spots where i think the conversation was misinterpreted a little bit, but overall it came out pretty good. As a side note, Mike England, the guy who interviewed me and wrote the piece, was my grade 4 french immersion teacher. It was weird seeing him again.”

Interview with Venetian Snares

in

Some time in the near distant recent faraway past we were able to catch up to Aaron Funk of Venetian Snares for a little interview. If you don’t know who he is, you should discover who he is and listen to some of his music. Funk, who is from Canada, has a passion, or maybe an addiction, for creating a prolific amount of mind-blowing electronic music and is a brilliant composer.

We were able to drag him away from making music long enough to answer some of our questions, some serious, and some seriously stupid. But he played along and gave us a little glimpse into his world.

Cerrito Speakeasy artist-of-the-month, August ’08

in

The Cerrito Speakeasy contacted me about 8 months ago to be their August Artist-of-the-Month, based on the God’s Acre artwork (which features 3 artists and a musician). Twas a challenging hang, but with a few bits of fishing line and some big fat nuts to hang at the end, it came out pretty damn cool.
